With this page I want to let you know how I've used the money collected up to now.
As many of you already know, I own a BJC-5100 and it was a big delusion to discover that no drivers were available for this printer. Even bigger was the surprise to discover that my printer was like dead for WindowsXP.
At Canon's web site, it is clearly stated that this printer is incompatible with WindowsXP: probably this is true but I think that it would be better to say that "Software drivers are incompatible with WindowsXP".
I decided to investigate the problem. I started by developing a parallel port driver (the one supplied with BJCAngel): it was a very difficult task for me since I'm an hobbiest even if I know C and C++ languages pretty well. The work lasted for long and, due to the many times I had to turn my PC on and off, one day it crashed. From that comes the idea to collect some money.
Now, thanks to your donations, I've collected enough money to buy a new motherboard and 128Mb of addictional memory. Thanks very much to all of you.
But the work goes on, there are some problems that I still want to solve and, it is almost incredible to say, maintaining BJCAngel requires money: Internet connection, Development tools, etc.
I know of many internet frauds, but this is not and I want to assure you about this. I'm always trying to answer to e-mails as fast as I can, I confirm the donations only after some days to let users the time to register and verify that everything works well, I'm continuing to develop BJCAngel and I'm supporting it as much as I can.
Thanks very much
